Have you ever felt pulled in two directions? Our thoughts can roam from leave me alone to why doesn’t anyone invite me places or check in…doesn’t anyone care?
So often, as Jesus began ministering to the people, LARGE groups began to follow Him to hear this new way of thinking like the 5,000 who came to hear him! That crowd were Gentiles and Jews alike! There were times, like when John the baptist, Jesus’s cousin, died that Jesus wanted to be alone with God the Father and the crowd followed Him! His disciples told them to go home but Jesus looked at the crowd with compassion and came to them. Jesus recognized their deepest needs even before physical or spiritual.( Matthew 14:6-21)
Fast forward to today, 2025 years later and the multitude of distractions that interrupt that still small and compassionate voice of Jesus via the Holy Spirit. How must Jesus feel when the world betrayed him, detained him, whipped him, stuck a crown of thorns on his head and nailed Him to a cross…His best friend and disciples abandoned Him. Today we abandon Him!
When we received Jesus as our Savior we invited Him into our hearts. We said come in and we became the temple of the Kingdom of Heaven! Today may we wake up and realize Jesus is waiting patiently in our hearts to be invited into every area of our lives! Even the ones we keep hidden from the world. Even the ones when we go out into the world. The market, the schools, your workplace, Jesus is right there when we are on our phones and computers! He is everywhere. So let’s make it a point today to welcome His voice and will for us today.
Please pray with me:
Father God. We invite you into our hearts and our lives. Please clean out the rooms in our hearts that are hard and hidden. Please give us your healing as we move into the day. Be in our thoughts and minds. Love us into wholeness. We thank You that You love us so much that you are not willing to keep us where we are but continue to shape and mold us into who You created us to be…in Your Image! When we show signs of the fruit of the spirit, Love, Joy, Peace, Goodness, Faithfulness, Self Control, Gentleness we can be sure we are on the straight and narrow! WE NEED YOUR WORD and WE NEED TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU! Bless us and guide us through your Holy Spirit as we do exactly this! In Jesus Name we pray AMEN!!
